How to make a QR code for a link
- Paste your link – a website, product page, booking form or document.
- Optionally pick colours and a dot style, and add your logo.
- Download the PNG or SVG, test it with your phone, then print or share it.
Tips for a code that scans every time
- Shorter links make simpler codes that scan faster and from further away.
- Print the code at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 × 0.8 in). As a rule of thumb, a code can be scanned from about ten times its width.
- Check that the page works well on a phone – that is where people will open it.
- By default this is a static code: the link is stored inside it. If the address might change, use “Make it editable” with a free account.
Questions and answers
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The link is stored inside the code itself, so it keeps working for as long as the web page exists. We don’t switch codes off, limit scans or ask for a subscription.
Can I change the link after printing?
Not with a static code – the link is part of the pattern. If you expect the address to change, create a free account and choose “Make it editable”: you can then change the link at any time and see how often the code is scanned.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you create or how often they are scanned.
Which file should I download?
Use PNG for websites, documents and social media. Use SVG for print: it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a banner.
