How to make a QR code for UPI payments
- Enter your UPI ID and the name on your bank account.
- Add an amount and a note for a fixed payment, or leave them empty.
- Download the code or print a “Pay with UPI” sign, then test it with ₹1 from another phone.
Tips for a code that scans every time
- Leave the amount empty for a counter or standee – the customer types what they owe.
- For invoices, add the amount and use the invoice number as the note.
- When paying, the customer’s app shows the name registered with your bank – check that it’s yours when you test.
- Scanning a UPI code is always for paying. Nobody ever needs to scan a code or enter their UPI PIN to receive money.
Questions and answers
Does it work with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm?
Yes. The code contains a standard UPI payment link (upi://pay) that every UPI app can read.
Does PinPointQR handle the money?
No. We only draw the code. The payment goes directly from the customer’s bank to the account linked to your UPI ID.
Why does the payer see a different name?
UPI apps show the name your bank has registered for the UPI ID, which may differ slightly from the name you typed.
Can I use it for my shop?
Yes. If you receive many payments, your bank may also offer a merchant QR code with extras such as payment sound alerts.
