How to make a QR code for SEPA bank transfers
- Enter the account holder’s name and IBAN. The BIC is optional for transfers within the EEA.
- Add the amount in euro and the invoice number as the reference.
- Download the code and place it on your invoice or payment request.
Tips for a code that scans every time
- We check the IBAN’s check digits, so typos are caught before you print.
- A creditor reference starting with RF is recognised and placed in the right field automatically.
- Codes follow the European Payments Council guideline EPC069-12: version 002, UTF-8 and error correction level M.
- Not every banking app reads these codes – test with your own bank’s app, and print the IBAN on the invoice too.
